Does the DQ Assistant slow down my Excel?

Short answer: No.

  • Having the DQ Assistant installed does not affect your Excel performance.

  • When the DQ Assistant is open - and you work as usual in Excel - again your Excel performance is not affected.

 

Still, performing a data quality analysis can take a moment to compute, depending on the size of the dataset.

 

If the sheet is large and the computation time-consuming, a dialog will appear asking to focus on selected data quality dimensions only:

You can deselect inconsistent values and outliers to accelerate the analysis.

 

In general, you can accelerate any data quality analysis by selecting only the data you are interested in, or choosing only relevant dimensions in the settings menu, before running an analysis.
